Hard Work Could Land Rogers In The ACC

Monroe offensive lineman Brian Rogers has a big year ahead of him. As is the case with most high school offensive linemen, according to his coach, his work ethic and progression during the summer prior to his senior season as well as his play during his final high school campaign will tell the story as to whether Rogers has a chance to be a big-time college prospect.

Monroe High School offensive lineman Brian Rogers has a chance to do big things, according to his coach, Bobby Cloninger. But it won't come without work.

"A lot will depend on his senior year," Coach Cloninger said. "It's hard to coach someone who is 6'6 300 and can run. You don't coach that natural ability." Obviously Rogers has some big-time potential.

Does coach Cloninger believe that Rogers has a chance to play at the college level? "I think he will get the opportunity to do it on the next level," Cloninger said. "I think if he has a great senior season, he'll have some options. Of course, like most guys his size, he's got to turn up his intensity a little bit."

"He's heard from several schools in the ACC," Coach Cloninger said. "And he will keep getting more and more interest if he will work hard in the next few months."
