Pittman Likes Three

Leesville Road linebacker Brandon Pittman has three schools at the top of his list. Find out where the NC State fits in.

Three schools are sitting atop Brandon Pittman's list, but he's leaving the door open to others.

Pack Pride caught up with the 6-2, 200-pound linebacker from Leesville Road one evening last week shortly after he had left NC State's practice.

Pittman has been a regular at the Pack's practices since they are so close to his home and NC State is one of the schools that has made him a priority. He likes what he has seen from the players and the coaches and he's starting to feel more and more at home -- partly because he's so close to home.

"I've been to a few practices," Pittman said. "Just now I left practice. I know two guys from Leesville that are there -- Taylor Gentry and Zach Gentry. I'm also starting to get to know the strongside linebacker, Audie Cole. I'm talking to him about what it's like being a linebacker at NC State.

"I like that they're real close to home and I really like the coaching staff. I like their defensive scheme too."

Those are certainly good words for the Pack, but where does NC State rank on his list?

"They're definitely in the top three," he said. "Right now my top three is NC State, Wake Forest and East Carolina."

When asked what he likes about Wake Forest and ECU, Pittman cited location as a primary factor. He also said he is starting to develop a strong relationship with coach Russ from Wake Forest. Pittman said those three stills are even at the top of his list.

"I plan on taking my official visits either probably during the season or after," he said. "I'm probably gonna take all five. I've been hearing from West Virginia so I'll probably take one (official) there, maybe just to see what it's like up there. Then I'll go to State, Wake Forest, ECU and maybe somewhere else."
