Bridge Taking Recruiting Slowly

Pennsylvania wide receiver Dexter Bridge has been sitting on two offers for a while now.

Though Illinois and NC State have offered scholarships to the talented rising senior receiver from Conestoga High School, Bridge does not appear to be any closer to a decision than he was more than a month ago when Pack Pride last caught up with him.

The 6-2, 185-pound prospect is taking a hard look at both the Illini and the Wolfpack, to be sure, but he appears to want to wait things out and find out what all of his options are before he ends the recruiting process.

"Miami has been showing interest and Syracuse has too," Bridge said in an interview with Pack Pride. "I think Syracuse is close to offering and Rutgers is showing a lot of interest too. I talked to one of the Syracuse coaches last week. I forget his name but the wide receivers coach sent me an e-mail too."

If any of those schools were to offer it's yet to be determined how that might impact Bridge's mind set. He said he does not have any favorites, regardless of whether or not schools have offered.

"I'm just keeping my options open because I have two offers but a lot of schools are still talking to me," he said.

"Right now I believe I'll take all (of his official visits) but that may change. I'm pretty sure I'll take all of them. I think I'm going to give the Rutgers coach that's recruiting me a call sometime soon. They sent me an e-mail too and I was gonna call him to talk."
Where exactly do the two schools that have offered fit into the picture?

"I've been sending them e-mails," he said of both schools. "I haven't spoken to them on the phone (lately) because the last week I was free was when they were all on vacation.

"With Illinois I like the campus a lot and the team. It seems like they need some help at the receiver position so I'd have a good shot at going in and playing.

"I really like the NC State coaches a lot. I like coach Swepson and I've been keeping in contact with him. I took an official visit there during spring break and I met the rest of the coaches."

That could bode well for the Pack. Bridge said the biggest factor in his decision will be having a good relationship with the coaching staff.

Bridge is ranked the No. 81 wide receiver in the nation by Scout.
