North Carolina (2-2) vs. UNC Asheville (2-1)
Chapel Hill, N.C. -- Dean E. Smith Center
7:00 p.m. -- Fox Sports South

"This is not the great Carolina teams of old. They still have the same number of McDonald's All-Americans, but it's younger and inexperienced talent." – UNC Asheville head coach Eddie Biedenbach

"We know what to expect because we've played in these games before. You always get up for these games because you want to play against the best and see where you stand." – UNC Asheville guard J.P. Primm

Season to Date: UNC Asheville enters Tuesday's contest with a 2-1 record. The Bulldogs sandwiched wins over Auburn (70-69, OT) and Virginia Intermont (116-58) around a loss at Furman (69-67). The victory over the Tigers down in Alabama was UNC Asheville's first opening game win on the road since the 1978-79 season (Carson-Newman). It is also believed to be the biggest road comeback win for the Bulldogs in program history as Eddie Biedenbach's squad trailed by 16 at halftime and by 12 with four minutes to play.

Last Time Out: Seven players scored in double figures on Saturday as UNC Asheville dismantled Virginia Intermont, 116-58, at the Justice Center. Matt Dickey, J.P Primm and Chris Stephenson all scored 16 points for Asheville. Jaron Lane added 15 points, while D.J. Cunningham finished with 14 points and nine rebounds. UNC Asheville also tied a school record for steals with 20.

Preseason Poll: UNC Asheville was selected to finish third in the Big South Conference Preseason Poll in October, trailing defending Big South regular season champion Coastal Carolina and tournament champion Winthrop. The Bulldogs won 12 of their last 16 games in'09-'10 after starting 3-12 to finish with a 15-16 record.

Strong Start: Shooting guard Matt Dickey has stepped up during the first three games of his junior campaign, leading the Bulldogs in scoring each time out. The Trussville, Ala. native tied his career-high (26 points) in the loss at Furman last Tuesday, and is currenting averaging 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per outing. Dickey is knocking down 50 percent (18-of-36) of his field goal attempts, including 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from 3-point territory, and is also lethal at the free throw line (89 percent on 16-of-18 shooting).

Glue Guy: J.P. Primm does more than just direct the offense and find open teammates. He actually does a little of everything, averaging 15.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.7 steals, while ranking second on the team in 3-point shooting (33.3 percent). Part of the 6-foot-1 guard's productivity stems from experience – Primm stands seventh all-time in school history in assists (334) and is on track to become the program's all-time leader during his senior season in '11-'12.

Protecting the Basketball: UNC Asheville is committing just 13.3 turnovers per game and boast a plus-8.3 turnover margin through three games.

Tough Road Ahead: UNC represents the first of a five-game road trip for the Bulldogs. In all, seven of UNC Asheville's first eight games will be played away from home.

Random Fact of the Day: Biedenback began his head coaching career at Davidson nearly 20 years ago and chose wisely in selecting his assistant coaching staff -- Texas head coach Rick Barnes, Wake Forest head coach Jeff Bzdelik and current Davidson head coach Bob McKillop.

Last Meeting: North Carolina defeated UNC Asheville, 116-48, on Nov. 30, 2008 at the Smith Center. Ty Lawson (22 points) and Danny Green (18 points, 6-of-8 3-pointers) led the Tar Heels, who shot 57.1% from the floor, while handing out 30 assists to just 11 turnovers.
