Chol Set to Visit UNC

Angelo Chol is in the midst of his senior season, nearly averaging a triple double, but the top uncommitted power forward prospect in the 2011 class is still trying to figure out where he's going to attend college.

Chol, a 6-foot-9, 220-pounder, has already taken official visits to Alabama and Kansas. This weekend he'll head to North Carolina for his third official visit.

"Coach [Roy] Williams was at his game tonight," San Diego (Calif.) Hoover coach Ollie Goulston told late Wednesday night. "He's going on a visit and they have made him a high priority. So we will see how it goes."

After the UNC visit, Chol will visit Arizona the weekend of January 29th and then he will take his final official visit to Washington the weekend of February 12th. Shortly after that trip he'll make his pick.

"He's going to make an announcement on February 17th, so he's close," Goulston confirmed.

"I think he's trying to develop a feel for all of them and their opportunities and coaches relationships," Goulston said. "They are all pretty good choices and they all have very good head coaches. He feels comfortable with all of them."

Chol is having a very good final season for Hoover. In fact, Goulston said he's showing his versatility and has improved his shooting.

"He's having a big year," Goulsotn said. "He's scoring a lot and he's shooting the ball well. He didn't shoot the ball well the past two games, but overall he's our leading three-point shooter this year."

So what sticks out about Chol's game?

"His versatility," Goulston said. "He can do everything both offensively and defensively. He's just so athletic and multi-skilled. He brings a lot to the table that way."

Chol is averaging 27 points, 13 rebounds and nine blocks a game for a 10-4 Hoover squad.
