UNC-MSU to Play on Aircraft Carrier

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina head coach Roy Williams confirmed the rumored aircraft carrier game against Michigan State next season on his radio show on Monday night. The game will take place on Nov. 11, 2011 – Veterans Day – in San Diego.

"It hasn't been announced yet, but we're supposed to be playing Michigan State in San Diego on an aircraft carrier on Veterans Day next year," Williams said.

Speculation points to the game being held on the deck of the USS Reagan (pictured above), but that detail has not been confirmed yet.

North Carolina leads the all-time series with Michigan State, 10-3, including a 5-0 mark in the NCAA Tournament.
