Dutch is a multi-positional athlete with total offense numbers to astound.
Here are his accolades:
A 1st-team all-conference return specialist for two years in a row, and 2002 second-team all-Metro as a defensive back; he caught 16 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns (75-yard TD long), returned five kickoffs for 267 yards (99-yard TD long), returned 19 punts for 238 yards and three touchdowns (75-yard TD long), recovered three fumbles for 103 yards and three touchdowns (77-yard TD long). He also intercepted a pass for an 11-yard touchdown return.
"He's a great kid, a great student and a great athlete," Eagles head coach Kenny Lucas said. "I don't want to say a phenomenal athlete…but a great, great athlete."
Last year, Dutch scored four touchdowns in one game.
Lucas verified to Inside Carolina, that Dutch's 40-time is 4.34.
Dutch is also considering Maryland, Virginia, Penn State, Stanford, Florida, Michigan State and Notre Dame.
"He makes big plays and we need him," teammate Luke Warring said.
Warring is also being recruited by the Tar Heels.
The 6-5, 305-pound offensive lineman likes UNC, but he is going to think long and hard about his decision.
Warring is also being recruited by Maryland, Syracuse, Connecticut, Boston College, Michigan State, Duke and Georgia Tech.
"He's a big kid," Lucas said. "He's been a two-year starter. One of our top tackles this year. He's a kid who is getting better and better each day. I'm sure he is going to have some I-A offers."
"The schools that have been with me for a while…I'm going to take that into consideration," Warring said. "I don't really have favorite. There are schools that are sending me letters, but I don't really have a favorite at all."
UNC's relationship with Gedin has played a big part in the recruitment of Warring.
"I've just heard a lot of good stuff from Kory, and that he liked them a lot," Warring said. "When they were here at my school visiting Kory, I talked to one of them."
Lucas said that Gedin is working hard in the weight room while competing on the track team in preparation for his arrival in Chapel Hill.
"Absolutely, he is very excited," Lucas said. "Kory's working real hard and he's one of the top throwers on our track team. He's been a three-sport star for the last couple of years. He is one of the top sprinters in our conference and in the area."
