"It was great," Allen said. "I enjoyed the weekend a lot.
"All the facilities are impressive," the 2012 prospect added. "Everything is brand new. Everything looked great. I was really impressed."
While the facilities stood out, so did the atmosphere during North Carolina's matchup with archrival Duke. Allen was quick to point out how loud it was in the Dean E. Smith Center
"The crowd was ridiculous the whole game," the 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward said. "Everybody was standing up. It was really loud. I couldn't hear anything."
Prior to heading for the airport on Sunday, Allen met with Williams to discuss the recruiting process. At this time the Heels haven't offered, but they plan to continue to evaluate him in the spring.
"He was really honest and straight up with me about everything," Allen said. "He said they're going to be recruiting me hard. He said he's going to come out to another workout in April at our school. Then he's going to make a decision as far as offering."
What stood out most about the weekend?
"Besides the coaching staff, it was just a great campus," he said. "Everybody and all the students were great."
Allen, who ranks No. 17 overall by Scout.com, claims offers from schools such as Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, California, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, UNLV, Utah and Washington State. Does not having one from UNC affect his long term thought process?
"I understand," Allen said. "As far as my recruiting has gone, they are one of the new schools to enter and I'm just taking the opportunity to get to know them."
"They are good," he added about North Carolina. "All the coaches know what they are talking about. They are a great group of guys. I just love their whole demeanor."
With such strong interest from a host of schools, one would think Allen was starting to jump into the recruiting process more. But he said he's still looking at his options and isn't in a rush to make a college choice.
"I'm just evaluating," he said. "I don't really have a list or anything. I'm just focusing on schools and seeing what each one has to offer. I'm just excited."
