Target 2004: Marque Hall

Defensive tackle Marque Hall (Marshville, N.C.) is one of the most gifted athletes in North Carolina. Hall is big (6-5 and over 300 lbs.), fast (4.8 40-time) and strong (BP over 400 lbs).

College recruiters have begun to notice as he has been extended offers from at least six Division I schools including North Carolina. Hall says he is pretty much wide open and unsure where he might go to camp this summer. He really doesn't have any favorites at this point and doesn't know when he might commit.

Hall recently made a trip to Chapel Hill for junior day, and he stated the following with regards to his visit: "It was a good visit. I had the chance to meet Coach [John] Bunting, Coach [Brad] Lawing, and Coach [Gunter] Brewer (primary recruiter).

"I am getting letters about every other day from both North Carolina and Virginia."

He also said the part of his game that he would like to improve is his technique.

"He is just so fast for a kid as big as he is," Forest Hills head coach John Lowery said.

Football is not the only sport in which Hall excels. He is also the reigning state champion in both the shot put and the discus, and is interested in participating in track and field in college as well as football.
