The combine testing included the 40-yard dash, which was conducted on Rocky River's track; 20-yard shuttle in Rocky River's gym; vertical jump, and bench reps of 185 pounds. Participants also went through position drills on Rocky River's $750,000 artificial field.
In addition to being among the most physically impressive looking participants, Littlejohn had a solid combine performance. The 5-foot-11, 217-pound tailback clocked a 4.67-second 40-yard dash, 4.43-second 20-yard shuttle, vertically jumped 34.3 inches, and benched 185 pounds 22 times.
East Carolina, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina are the schools recruiting Littlejohn the hardest, but no school has offered.
"Georgia Tech has talked a little bit about [offering me]," Littlejohn said.
The interest is mutual.
"I like Tech a lot," Littlejohn said. "I like it a lot down there. It's a real nice school, and everybody's nice. It's cool. I am going down there the 16th [of April].
"With UNC, I went down there a month or so ago. I liked it. It's real nice down there.
"I haven't been down there [to East Carolina] yet."
Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell
Like Littlejohn, Okware "looks the part" and shined in combine drills. At 6-foot-4, 228 pounds, the defensive end recorded a 4.95-second 40-yard dash, 4.70-second 20-yard shuttle, and 32.2-inch vertical jump.
Okware has received scholarship offers from Duke, South Florida, and Vanderbilt.
After checking in at 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, Blaser ran a 5.10-second 40-yard dash, 4.69-second 20-yard shuttle, and bench 185 pounds 23 times.
Blaser, an offensive lineman, is hearing from Ball State, Clemson, Duke, Illinois, UNC, and NC State with Clemson and Ball State recruiting him the hardest.
In late March, Blaser attended UNC's Junior Day.
"UNC was pretty nice," Blaser said. "Nice facilities [and] I liked the coaching staff – they seemed like players' coaches. I went up there for a junior day and watch them practice. I saw how they are enclosing the stadium."
Blaser has also visited Clemson, Duke, and NC State.
"Out of the four schools I have visited, Clemson and UNC are my favorites right now," Blaser said.
Norwood (N.C.) South Stanly
After spending a season at cross-county rival North Stanly, Holt returns to South Stanly for his senior year. That isn't the only "change" he'll face – Holt, who started at quarterback the first three years of his prep career, will play tight end and linebacker.
Saturday, Holt worked out at tight end where he measured in at 6-foot-2 and 214 pounds, clocked a 4.53-second 20-yard shuttle and vertically jumped 31.7 inches.
Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, UNC, and NC State are recruiting Holt. The Blue Devils and Pirates have talked about offering him a scholarship.
This week, Holt will make his first trip to ECU and revisit Duke. Besides Duke, he has attended a junior day at Clemson.
Holt has a couple ties to UNC.
"I like them a lot," Holt said. "I have a teammate, [Terry Shankle], that plays there, and my cousin Quan Sturdivant played there."
UNC will attempt to bring in a punter with the 2012 class. Two of its top targets – Bradley Pinion (Concord (N.C.) Northwest Cabarrus) and Cason Beatty (Charlotte (N.C.) Olympic) – competed during the specialist portion of the combine.
Pinion averaged 48.4 yards on five punt attempts with an average hang time of 4.07 seconds, while Beatty averaged 42.4 yards on five punt attempts with an average hang time of 3.63 seconds.
Pinion had the combine's best kickoff numbers. He booted two of his three kickoff attempts into the end zone with a 3.27-second hang time average (4.06-second average on the two that landed in the end zone). He also converted five-of-nine field goal attempts – including all three from the 20-yard line, but none beyond 30 yards.
Beatty struggled on kickoffs and field goals. His deepest kickoff reached the 15-yard line, while the average hang time of his three attempts were 3.34 seconds. He converted two of his nine field goal attempts – both from 20 yards out.
Among the punters, Jarrel Honisan from Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek had the best day. He averaged 52 yards on five punt attempts with an average hang time of 4.24 seconds.
