White Signs LOI

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Stilman White, a 6-1 point guard from Hoggard High School in Wilmington, N.C., has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of North Carolina and play men's basketball for the Tar Heels.

White, a two-time team captain and and MVP for Coach Brett Queen, earned first-team Associated Press all-state honors and was the Mideastern Conference and District 2 Player of the Year in 2011.

White scored 1,078 points and had 231 assists in 76 career games. He averaged a career-high 20.5 points and 3.0 assists per game as a senior. He is Hoggard's all-time leader in made free throws (280) and three-point field goal percentage (.381).

"We are very pleased that Stilman decided to come to Carolina," says UNC head coach Roy Williams. "If you look at our roster for next season, you can see we had a depth issue at point guard. Stilman is a youngster who came on strong as his high school career went along. He's going to be a great team player for us because he has the toughness and the competitiveness I love in a point guard."
