Hubert Signs LOI

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Desmond Hubert, a 6-9 forward from New Egypt High School in New Jersey, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of North Carolina and play men's basketball.

Hubert, a resident of Cream Ridge, N.J., averaged 16 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots per game as a senior. He played for Coach Jay Corby.

"We are very excited about Desmond's decision to become a Tar Heel," says UNC head coach Roy Williams. "He is an outstanding young man. He's going to be a successful student as well as an outstanding addition to our basketball program.

"He already has a very definite talent in his ability to block shots and he's going to continue to improve in all areas of his game. He's a welcome addition to our front-court depth, which we were not able to enjoy last year."
