"Yes, they did offer," Tarczewski confirmed to Inside Carolina.
"He just came in today," he added about UNC's head coach. "He had a meeting with Mr. (Dave) Lubick, my high school coach. [The offer] was through Mr. Lubick."
What does Tarczewski think about the offer?
"The University of North Carolina is such a historically great program," he said. "It's really a program that doesn't offer too many kids. So to get an offer from a school that prestigious is a great thing."
Tarczewski has been on Carolina's campus, but he's yet to take a real visit there. His trip there was during the Tournament of Champions in May of 2010.
"I haven't taken a real visit," he said. "I went down there last year for the Bob Gibbons [tournament], that's about it. I think this year I'm going to try and go a day early and stay a day later, but I'm not sure if that is going to happen because finals is the next week."
"I definitely want to get down there and see more of the program and school," he added.
The five-star prospect has a number of offers, including one from Kansas. Does UNC's new offer change his recruitment?
"It doesn't really change too much," he said. "I'm pretty open to everything still. Hopefully I'm going to narrow things down pretty shortly before I get into the summer. I'm going to try and do that."
"Right now it doesn't change too much of anything. I'm really glad that I've been this fortunate."
Tarczewski is currently ranked No. 9 in the 2012 class by Scout.com.
