Heels lead for NC RB

Up until now, Albert Ashcraft listed Clemson as his favorite, although an offer from North Carolina has been on the table for months. But there's a new favorite for the speedy Monroe running back.

Albert Ashcraft told Inside Carolina on Wednesday that he now prefers to remain in state, and that the Tar Heels now top his list of favorite schools.

"I like the way that they are recruiting me," Ashcraft said. "They are recruiting me harder than anyone else and showing a lot of interest."

Ashcraft posted his best time ever in the 100m -- a blazing 10.56 seconds – at this year's 2-A Rocky River Conference track championships.

Along with his offer from UNC, Ashcraft has also been offered by the coaches from Clemson and South Carolina. He said he expects that N.C. State and East Carolina will follow suit shortly. Ashcraft plans on camping at North Carolina and Clemson. He also plans to attend one-day camps at East Carolina and South Carolina.

Don't expect a decision soon, though, because Albert said he will wait until signing day to make his intentions known.
