OL Terry commits to Duke

Ragsdale offensive lineman and 2004 UNC recruiting prospect Jonathan Terry verbally committed to Duke on Monday, according to reports.

"I talked to my parents and it seemed like a good thing to do," Terry told the Winston-Salem Journal, "I like the coaches and we got to know each other."

His decision to become a Blue Devil came shortly after teammate Brandon Drumgoole, a defensive lineman also in the Class of 2004, accepted a scholarship offer from Wake Forest.

Terry had made unofficial visits to both Duke and UNC. And though he told IC a few months ago that the Tar Heels were his first choice, at least one of his assistant coaches said that the UNC camp wasn't showing that much interest in him. Terry's strength was never in question, but his speed may have been the reason UNC never made him an offer.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound senior said he made up his mind about a week ago to attend college in Durham.
