CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Before concluding his UNC official visit on Sunday, Jessie Rogers committed to the Tar Heels, he confirmed to

Rogers, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end from Arlington (Texas) Bowie, selected UNC over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Arizona, Baylor, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State.

Before even visiting the campus, UNC was Rogers's leader. This weekend's official visit to the school sealed the deal.

Accompanied by his mother, Rogers officially visited UNC this weekend because Bowie had a bye week.

Rogers was first elevated to Bowie's varsity squad during the playoffs of his sophomore season, although he didn't receive much playing time. He became a starter during his junior year and ended the season with 61 tackles, including 15 for loss and four sacks.
