Jackie Manuel: Scouting Reports

"A slender, unselfish performer who ranks among the most athletic wings in the class, Jackie's stock soared after a very impressive summer. He excels at running the floor in transition for dunks, acrobatic lay-ups and slick dishes, and now he drills perimeter jump shots out to three-point range, which previously was considered his primary weakness. He also may be the best wing defender in the class, as he uses his quick hands and feet to smother smaller players. He needs to improve his ball handling to make the full transition to WG in college, but his overall athleticism and polish make him an outstanding prospect." -- Clint Jackson (HighMajorHoops.com)

"Manuel is a great all-around player who comes from a winning high school program. He blends into a game, instead of taking over a game himself. He is a great defender (quick hands) and passer, very effective in the open court, and is more of a slasher than a shooter. He is starting to hit three-pointers regularly. On the skinny side, but one of the best athletes in the class." -- Jacey Zembal (FoxSports.com)

"At the adidas ABCD Camp, Manuel finally let the rest of the country see what the Florida Gators saw at their individual camp. He was explosive; hit the three-pointer and raced around the court like a gazelle. His performance there was enough to bump him up into elite membership in the WG group. Manuel's versatility could also lead to him playing WF in a pinch." -- Dave Telep (Rivals100Hoops.com)

"The best wing guard defender in the class of 2001." -- Brick Oettinger (CNNSI.com)
