Bowman claims three state titles

Future Heel shines in Tennessee state track and field championships; his final high school sporting event.

North Carolina 2003 football signee Adarius Bowman brought home titles in three events at the Tennessee Division II high school boys' track and field championships Friday night in Memphis.

However, he fell three inches short in his attempt to break the state high jump mark of 7-foot-2 set by Eric Draper of Memphis White Station High School in 1996. Bowman had cleared his personal best of seven feet earlier this spring.

The prized wide receiver recruit from Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga dominated the competition, winning in the high jump (6-foot-10), long jump (22-foot-9 ¼) and triple jump (46-foot-8) events.

Bowman also finished fourth in the 200 meters (22.82).
