Jackson Opens Back Up

Following his official visit to UNC, Joseph Jackson made the call on Wednesday night to decommit from West Virginia.

"I called West Virginia and I am not committed to them anymore. It was a hard call to make, but it was I needed to do," Jackson said.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker out of Jacksonville, Fla. committed to the Mountaineers back in the spring, but he made it clear that he still planned to take other visits. The trip this past weekend led to his decision.

"I learned a lot at North Carolina over the weekend and it was what I thought it would be. I had a good visit there and I had to open things back up after that visit."

North Carolina is now in the lead for Jackson, but this is not over yet.

"I am going to take some other visits. Auburn is one I am thinking about and Ole Miss is another one. I do not have any visits set up yet though."

West Virginia could possibly get back into the mix, but odds are high that Jackson will sign with someone else in February.

"I don't see myself at West Virginia right now," he said. "You never know, but right now, I am just going to look at other schools and take it from there."
