Quotable: "It was a struggle [sitting out]," Washington told the Concord Independent Tribune. "I wanted to play, but they were doing real good without me playing. I really wanted to play, especially since this is my senior year. I'm feeling better and stronger. The knee is really not hurting. I can do everything I'm supposed to be able to."

"I just think [Washington] is more confident," Brown head coach Mike Newsome told the Concord Independent Tribune. "He's probably not stronger. His leg's obviously got to be weaker, but I think he's just more confident that he can make the plays that he was making before he got injured. I just think the kid's an unbelievable talent. It would be nice to have that kid for a couple of years because he's a great talent with the football in his hands."
