Opening comments:
"Needless to say, we're extremely disappointed. You have to congratulate Coach Rice and his team. I thought they really did a nice job. We never could get our focus going offensively the entire game. ‘Z' was out of it a little bit early. We weren't doing things the way we wanted to do it. Late-game situation – it's my fault we haven't practiced that enough. I've got to do a better job in practicing so that they know what to do out there. The backboards killed us, there's no question about that. I think they got 20 points off offensive rebounds to our six, and even in late-game situations, we got them to miss the first shot on two different occasions and they got a rebound and scored on the second possession right there.

"So just congratulate UNLV. It was a wonderful setting; it was a great crowd. It was a college basketball atmosphere that you like to have. I went and told Dave that we were going to try to get off the floor quickly and to please don't take that as any disrespect, but I just didn't want any of our players to get hurt… We've got to get a heck of a lot better. That's what we have to do."

Can you explain the struggle to find an offensive rhythm?
"We were doing two things. We were settling for jump shots and when we did get it inside, their defense was really aggressive. Go back and look at how many times John or ‘Z' or one of our post players turns to try to take it to the basket and the ball is stripped or knocked loose. We need to be stronger with the basketball too, but give credit to their defense."

On the crowd:
"It was a great setting. The people were fantastic. Fans – they get into it. One guy came down behind the bench to yell at me at the end and came on the court after me again but he didn't get close enough, so that's all you can say."

What do you take away as the No. 1 thing for this team to improve on?
"Probably just overall defensively, we've got to get better. Get better with defensive intensity and be able to continue it."

On rebounding:
"Down the stretch they got a lot of big rebounds. We had to start scrambling and we didn't do a good job getting the boards. It's something that it's tough to get there, but we still have to be able to get there and get those rebounds."
