Sources close to the situation have confirmed that Patton Robinette had a sudden change of heart Sunday. The Maryville (Tenn.) quarterback, who had decided late Saturday night to enroll this weekend at UNC, is now leaving campus and headed to Vanderbilt.

Saturday, 11:30pm: After taking his recruitment to the eleventh hour, Patton Robinette will stick to his verbal commitment and enroll at North Carolina this weekend, sources close to the situation confirmed.

Robinette, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound a quarterback from Maryville (Tenn.), visited UNC with his parents on Saturday to spend time with the Tar Heels' new coaching staff before making his final collegiate decision. According to Inside Carolina's sources, Robintte plans to remain on campus and enroll in the spring semester.

In mid-June, Robinette verbally committed to UNC. However, he began to explore other options when Butch Davis was dismissed. Those efforts continued when Larry Fedora was hired as head coach.

Robinette made several unofficial visits to Vanderbilt and officially visited Iowa. This past week, he received in-home visits from Iowa, UNC, and Vanderbilt and still wasn't 100-percent sure of his collegiate destination.

Apparently, the unofficial visit to UNC this weekend sealed the deal for Robinette.
