Florida State signee Anthony Richardson, a McDonald's All-American, told the News & Record yesterday that he had received a qualifying score on the ACT and would therefore be eligible this season to suit up for the Seminoles.
Apparently, however, Richardson did not qualify.
Two publications today reported that Richardson fell short on his final ACT attempt and will be a partial qualifier at FSU - sitting out this season, but eligible to play in 2002-2003. One paper said Richardson says he qualified, but FSU officials won't confirm.
N&O - "The 6-7 forward will be a partial qualifier after missing the required SAT score by 10 points and the ACT requirement by one."
Prep Stars - "Bad news though that may be, Anthony a year late is much better than no Anthony at all."
Tallahassee Democrat - "FSU has remained quiet on the matter and did not release a statement Tuesday regarding the 6-foot-8 wing player's status with the program."
