But family, roots and acquaintance laurels do not a Divison I lineman make. Holliday is for real, and his collegiate aspirations are certainly authentic.
Currently he has written offers from Louisville, Indiana, Clemson, Middle Tennessee State; and verbal offers from UNC, N.C. State and Duke.
Holliday earned All–Cobb County honors from the Marietta Daily Journal and was named All-Area as a junior by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
He will attend camp at Carolina on June 14.
"They have told my coach that they were going to offer me," Holliday said. "I plan to visit their camp this Saturday (June 15), after I go to the Clemson camp."
Holliday said that North Carolina is recruiting him the hardest right now, but he also said that he is receiving interest from a number of schools.
Stanford is one school that has caught his eye. Cardinal coaches have frequently come away with very good Georgia prospects such as running back J. R. Lemon.
Auburn, UNC and Stanford top Holliday's list at the moment.
He would like to major in either business or engineering, yet he admits being a little in awe of attending school cross-country.
"I plan to decide by the end of the summer or maybe the first month or two during the season," Holliday said. "I would like to get the recruiting over so that I can focus on my senior year."
