Rory Nicol update

Beaver Falls (Pa.) tight end Rory Nicol is preparing for his summer southern tour. He will be flying into Chapel Hill on Saturday for an unofficial visit and does not plan to visit any of the other local schools that day. His sister is already visiting the Outer Banks on vacation.

Nicol said that Penn State has a "slight lead," but he has yet to visit some of the other schools on his list.

"North Carolina is high on my list," Nicol said. "I am looking forward coming down for a visit. I have a teammate going to camp during the same time."

Other than Penn State and North Carolina, Nicol is also interested in Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Notre Dame. He says that he may wait until after football season before he makes his decision.

Nicol said he would like to visit North Carolina for a football game. He and assistant coach Andre Powell have written each other and Rory has pictures of game day in Chapel Hill, complete with the Old Well Walk.

"Looks like it gets pretty crazy on game day," Nicol said. "I hope the ACC expansion gets resolved soon so that things can be a settled when I make my choice."
