Heels make Pinkney top priority

As a very athletic quarterback, many schools envision Pine Forest (NC) quarterback Patrick Pinkney as a guy that can play quarterback or fill in a role at other positions. Four schools have already extended an offer.

"I have been offered by South Carolina State, Army, William and Mary, and East Carolina," says the 6-foot-1, 182 pounder. "At the Carolina camp, Coach Bunting said I was the number one quarterback on their list, so that has me excited."

Pinkney wants to keep his options open, but North Carolina has risen on his short list.

"I want to decide after my official visits, but they are number one. I also like NC State, Florida State, Virginia, and Notre Dame. All of them have called me a lot except Notre Dame, so I think there is some interest there."

He is an outstanding three sport athlete who was named to the Two Rivers All-Conference team as a junior after amassing over 1600 yards of total offense and scoring 17 touchdowns.
