"If UNC or Duke called, I'd be very, very interested," Keith Butler told SchoolSports.com
Butler, a 7-0, 245-pound center, averaged a triple-double at Cambridge (MA) North Catholic last year.
He is ranked No. 46 in Prep Stars' Pre-Summer Top 50 rankings and is likely headed higher up the charts, thanks to strong showings at the Nike Camp and the Peach Jam this month.
Butler averaged 6.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game playing alonside Torin Francis for BABC at the Peach Jam.
"Butler is dominant on the glass and as a defender," wrote Prep Stars.com from the Nike Camp. "Funny thing is, he is pretty good on the offensive end as well, even though his scoring has never been his calling card. Keith has a very soft touch and with his size and physical skills, there are few players who have as much upside as the New England big man."
But Butler has some work to do in the classroom in order to qualify, so he's headed to a Massachusetts prep school this fall.
If he can bring up his GPA, he just might get that call he wants from Chapel Hill.
