Barth named MVP kicker at camp

North Carolina 2004 commitment Connor Barth and his family returned home late Sunday night from Blacksburg, Va.

Out of over 140 kickers and punters on hand, Barth was named most valuable player for kickers at the developmental camp sponsored by Fourth Down Sports and Bill Renner.

Barth kicked the longest field goal off the ground – a 57-yarder, had the longest average distance on kickoffs of 70 yards per kick and recorded the best hang time on kickoffs.

"This is the same camp Connor attended last summer where he first met Dan Orner," said Barth's father Tom Barth. "They have several camp instructors that are former and current college kickers like Shane Graham-Carolina Panthers, Dan Orner-UNC, Nick Novak-Maryland and Paul Woodside-West Virginia."

This camp is not at all affiliated with Virginia Tech, though it is housed on the Hokies' campus.
