Bernard wore a left knee brace on Tuesday and participated in all drills through the media portion of practice.
Head coach Larry Fedora doesn't discuss injuries publicly, but offered these comments to reporters following Wednesday's practice on Bernard: "He's looked good. He hasn't missed any reps. He looks good."
Bernard left the season-opening win over Elon in the second quarter with an apparent left knee injury. He was listed as UNC's starter on the school's depth chart for last week's game at Wake Forest and was not included on the school's injury report prior to that game, but the red-shirt sophomore did not play.
North Carolina did not release an injury report this week since the Tar Heels are playing a nonconference opponent.
Junior running back A.J. Blue (145 yards, 3 TD in ‘12) started in Bernard's place at Wake Forest and will likely earn the nod again on Saturday.
UNC spokesman Kevin Best also confirmed that wide receivers Jheranie Boyd and Reggie Wilkins did not travel with the team as well.
