Summers Heading to JuCo

North Carolina pledges James Summers and Monte Taylor received their scores from their most recent taking of the ACT, which provided some clarity on their college paths.

"James Summers is going to Hinds Community College," Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy head coach Troy Davis said. "He didn't get the test score, so he's going to have to go to a junior college and then he'll go back to North Carolina."

Summers, a quarterback from Greensboro (N.C.), and Taylor, a defensive end from Springdale (Md.), were placed at Hargrave Military Academy by UNC after failing to qualify out of high school.

"Monte Taylor is going to take the test again, because he's only a few points off," Davis said. "If he doesn't get it then he'll head to junior college, too."

Taylor will retake the ACT on Feb. 9. He'll remain at Hargrave Military Academy until then, according to Davis.

Davis said he thinks that both Summers and Taylor will still sign with UNC on Feb. 6.

Hinds CC, where Summers is headed, is located in Raymond, Miss.
