"Juwan is a reliable player – he's going to come to work and do his job every day," High Point Central head coach Wayne Jones said. "Day in and day out, he's a consistent player on the football field. He's going to catch the football. He's our most reliable receiver and he has good worth ethic."
As a freshman, Foggie was moved up to varsity where he contributed on special teams. He then emerged as the go-to receiver in High Point Central's spread offense during his sophomore year.
"He's going to catch a lot of underneath passes," Jones said. "Most of the time, he's our first read on pass plays. We try to do a lot of things to free him up to get him one-on-one coverage, because he's going to be doubled and triple-teamed sometimes. So we try to move him around and do different things to get him open – whether that's on a shallow cross or a corner route."
Foggie ended his junior campaign with 65 catches for 960 yards and seven touchdowns.
Foggie is awaiting his first BCS offer, but is receiving interest from Clemson, Duke, Georgia, North Carolina, NC State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
This past fall, Foggie attended the UNC-Idaho and UNC-Virginia Tech games both in Chapel Hill. He returned to UNC on Saturday for the Tar Heels' first Junior Day.
"At the junior day, I received more of the coaches' focus and their attention," Foggie said. "There was definitely more one-on-one time with the coaches."
Specifically, Foggie spent the most time Saturday with Chris Kapilovic, who recruits High Point for UNC. He also had a conversation with one of the assistant coaches on the defensive side of the ball.
"They were just talking about how there's a lot of room for receivers in 2014," Foggie said. "They said they are really interested in me and want to get me to Carolina."
Foggie plans to attend a lot of one-day camps this summer, with UNC a definite destination.
Besides UNC, Foggie has visited NC State and Wake Forest.
At this stage of his recruitment, Foggie doesn't claim any favorite schools.
Foggie's cousin is a student at UNC. He is also close with NC State linebacker Rickey Dowdy, who played prep ball at High Point Central… Foggie is a forward on High Point Central's basketball team, where he's currently averaging a double-double on the season.
