Interview with A.J. Davis

Inside Carolina tallks with Northern High football and track star, A.J. Davis. Davis lists his top choices.

A.J. Davis is considered one of the top prizes in this year's football recruiting class. recruiting class. Max Emfinger ranks Davis as the top cornerback nationally in the Class of 2002.  

Besides being a standout high school football player at Northern Durham High School where he plays cornerback, Davis also competes in track.  

He has the best reported long jump mark in the state [23-7.25] this year, and also has the best recorded triple jump mark in the state [47-6.5].  In the NCHSAA 4A Track and Field Championships, he placed first in both events. 

Inside Carolina caught up with Davis and here is what he had to say about his football decision-making process:

Inside Carolina - A.J., give us your vital statistics.

A.J. Davis -  I am 5-11, weigh 175 pounds, and I run a 4.3 forty. 

Inside Carolina - What about bench press or squat?

A.J. Davis - I have never really lifted weights.

Inside Carolina - Who are your current favorites?

A.J. Davis - UNC, Duke, Wake, Michigan, and there are some others. 

Inside Carolina - Who is recruiting you the hardest?

A.J. Davis - Missouri.  They are calling me every week.

Inside Carolina - Are you planning on taking an official visit to UNC?

A.J. Davis - I have already taken several unofficial visits there, but I will probably schedule an official visit there too.

Inside Carolina - What will be one of the most important factors in your collegiate decision?

A.J. Davis -  Wherever I go, I would like to compete both in football and track.

Inside Carolina - Have you seen the new indoor  track and football training facility at UNC?

A.J. Davis - Yes, I have, and I would like to see it again.
