Interview with Josh Gattis

Inside Carolina catches up with speedy Northern Durham safety, Josh Gattis. Gattis, one of three Northern Durham players receiving lots of attention from major colleges, talks with us about the recruting process so far.

Josh Gattis (6-2, 187, 4.3, 290 bench) is one of three Northern Durham players [the other two being A.J. Davis and James Adams] that are getting lots of attention from major college football programs.  Gattis plays safety for Northern, where he uses his size and speed to be a force against the run.  Last season, Gattis tallied 110 tackles and one interception.

Gattis also runs track, and has recorded a meet time of 10.84 in the 100 meter dash.  He finished sixth in the 100 meter high hurdles at the 4A NCHSAA Track and Field Championship in May, and was seventh in the 100 meter dash. 

Inside Carolina caught up with Gattis briefly on the recruiting process to date.

Inside Carolina: Have you taken any visits yet,. and have you taken an official visit to UNC?

Gattis: No, I have not taken any trips yet. 

Inside Carolina:  Do you plan to visit UNC?

Gattis: I would like to visit UNC.

Inside Carolina: Who are your favortites at this point?

Gattis: Wake Forest, Tennessee, North Carolina, Nebraska, and Georgia Tech.

Inside Carolina: Do you have any offers yet?

Gattis: All of my favorites have offered except Georgia Tech.

Inside Carolina: Who is recruiting you the hardest?

Gattis:  I would say Wake Forest.
