"I like it," he added about North Carolina. "I like it more now. We are building more of a relationship with each other so I'm liking it."
Vaughn, who has a scholarship from the Tar Heels, said UNC has made it clear they want him to be a part of their 2014 class.
"They are just saying they are very interested and they want me there and stuff like that," he said.
Vaughn visited North Carolina for its game against Duke two weeks ago. He said the atmosphere in Chapel Hill was among the things that stood out about the trip.
"It was fun," he said of the visit. "The game and the intensity and stuff like that was crazy. They got the museum and stuff like that. We walked around. It was pretty fun.
"I just like how everybody is a family down there," Vaughn added. "That's really it. It's a family and just building that relationship with coach."
Vaughn said he likes Williams' style and how he's recruited him.
"He's a genuine guy," Vaughn said. "He tells me the truth about who they are recruiting and stuff like that and what he's looking for. He's straight up about everything. His history and track record too."
What's the next step for Vaughn in his recruitment?
"I'm looking at narrowing down my list," he said. "I don't know when, but I'm looking to do that soon."
Vaughn said he doesn't have any new visits scheduled, nor does he have a timetable for a college choice.
"My family agreed on doing it sometime my senior year, so we are going to try and stick with that unless something feels right and then we'll make a decision," Vaughn said.
