Wiggins Cancels Visits

Andrew Wiggins was scheduled to meet with North Carolina, Kansas and Florida State this week. Instead, Wiggins, who is still traveling home from the Nike Hoop Summit game, has opted to cancel those meetings.

"He just said that he's done," Huntington (W.V.) Prep coach Rob Fulford said. "He's mentally drained. He canceled them."

"This means nothing (in regards to his decision)," Fulford added.

Fulford said Wiggins will talk to all of the coaches by Wednesday, which marks the end of the NCAA's spring recruiting period (April 11-24). Therefore, in-person meetings at Huntington are no longer possible after that date.

"I think he's still going to talk to everybody on the phone," he said. "He's been non-stop the past three weeks and he wants to shut it down."

"He'll make contact with all of them," Fulford added. "He's still not back (from the Hoop Summit in Oregon). He's still trying to get back to Huntington. He'll communicate with all three by Wednesday before the communication period stops. He's mentally and physically drained and just needed some space."

Wiggins spent a week at the McDonald's All-American Game in Chicago, followed by a week at the Jordan Brand Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y. and finally this past week in Portland, Ore. for the Hoop Summit.

Fulford communicated the news to the coaches involved and he said they were understanding.

"I talked to everybody," he said. "They all get it and they all understand."

At this point, Wiggins does not have a timeframe for his college choice.

"I don't think in his mind he has a timetable," Fulford said.
