Chapel Hill, NC – Donald Williams, 1993 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, will visit The Blue Heaven Basketball Museum this Wednesday, August 15th, from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
Williams has been playing in several professional leagues in the United States and overseas as he continues his quest to land with an NBA team.
While at Carolina, "The Donald" was a member of two NCAA Final Four teams in 1993 and 1995, winning the National Championship in 1993, the ACC Regular Season Championship in 1993, and the ACC Tournament Championship in 1994.
Williams will most be remembered for his time in Carolina Blue as a clutch outside shooter and for his stellar performance during the 1993 NCAA Tournament. He had back-to-back 25-point games versus Kansas and Michigan in the Final Four, knocking in 5 of 7 3-point attempts, and swishing 4 consecutive free throws in the final 11 seconds of the National Championship game to seal the victory over Michigan's "Fab Five."
In 1993, he was named to the Final Four All-Tournament Team, the East Regional All-Tournament Team, and received second-team All-ACC honors.
Williams will be available for questions, autographs, and photos, and will sign the Letterman Wall at the Museum. He is one of several Tar Heels players that have made appearances this Summer at The Blue Heaven Basketball Museum.
