Stone Claims UNC Offer

LAS VEGAS -- Diamond Stone, one of the top post players in the 2015 class, confirmed that he holds a scholarship offer from North Carolina.

The 6-10, 240-pound center from Milwaukee (Wis.) Dominican hasn't given interviews about his recruitment in recent months, but on Sunday at the LeBron James Skills Academy he was willing to provide some details on his Tar Heel recruitment.

Starting on June 15, college coaches were allowed to contact 2015 prospects. Since that date, Stone has spoken to Roy Williams and developed a relationship with UNC assistant coach Steve Robinson.

"They just told me they wanted to get me out there for a visit and they talked about Midnight Madness," Stone said.

"I talked to Coach Robinson before I came here (to the LeBron Camp) and he just told me to keep working hard and they have a strong interest in me and they are following me."

Stone said he has mutually strong interest in the Tar Heels.

"It's high," he said. "It's everyone's dream school. Jordan went there and all these great players went there."

Other head coaches Stone has spoken with since June 15 include Bo Ryan (Wisconsin), John Calipari (Kentucky) and Oliver Purnell (DePaul). To date, he has visited Illinois, DePaul, Wisconsin and Marquette. He said he doesn't have any other visits planned.

Stone is ranked Scout.com's No. 6 overall recruit in the 2015 class.
