Carolina still very much alive for Fraser

Despite reports and rumors suggesting otherwise, the Tar Heels are still actively being considered by Jason Fraser, the 6-9 center from Amityville, NY

"[They are]strongly in the picture for Fraser," Amityville head coach Jack Agostino told Inside Carolina's Recruiting Analyst Clint Jackson on Monday. "Carolina has been consistent and excellent in their recruitment of Jason."

Agostino said that UNC, Villanova and St. Johns are still the frontrunners and Georgia Tech, UConn, Syracuse and Illinois remain in the picture.

"Jason would like to get it down to five schools by this week," he said.

Fraser plans on taking some official visits, and so far has been working to set up a trip to St. John's on Sept. 12 or 13.

Does Fraser feel any pressure to make a decision soon?

"Well, Jason feels like he's the best kid out there, so he thinks that anyone who really wants him will wait," Agostino said.

Fraser proved this summer that he is indeed one of the nation's best centers, earning MVP honors at the Vegas Big Time event last month.
