UNC head coach Roy Williams was in Marion last Friday.
"They saw me at Nike Global (in July) and I was committed at the time, but they thought I was one of the best players there," said Blackmon. "Then I de-committed so they started recruiting me.
"It was real cool that a Hall-of-Fame coach like Coach Williams is recruiting me. He's helped a lot of players get to the next level, and he thinks P.J. Hairston is leaving so that would open up a spot for me to be a scorer."
Michigan, Kentucky and Kansas also came to see him recently. Indiana boss Tom Crean was at his open gym on Wednesday.
All the interested schools have offered, with Kansas being the latest to do so.
"They just told me that they were recruiting me to come in and be a scorer right off, but also develop me as a point guard because they know ultimately that is what I want to play," said Blackmon of the Jayhawks.
Since his de-commitment -- and because it's his father's alma mater -- Kentucky has been mentioned a lot recently in this recruitment. Blackmon says the visit with John Calipari went well.
"I'm really liking Kentucky and what Coach Calipari does for guys, and he seems like he is all about family," said Blackmon. "That is real appealing for me, and I like Coach Calipari a lot."
Indiana has made getting Blackmon back in the fold a major priority, and Crean continues to show him a lot of attention.
"Indiana is always a place I am thinking about," said Blackmon. "I would probably be a hometown favorite there, and if I want to live here after basketball that would be a great thing for me. Coach Crean is just telling me how I would fit and how he would help develop me for the pros."
Another school that has been a constant in the recruitment is Michigan. The Wolverines came up on Tuesday and saw Blackmon as well.
"Michigan is probably going to lose Glenn Robinson and Mitch McGary so they will need a scorer to come in," said Blackmon. "I know if I work hard I would have a chance to earn a spot, but it wouldn't be easy. Coach Beilein is a great coach to me, a calm and down to earth guy, and I like their campus and everything about Michigan."
For now the next step is making visits, and two have been set up with a few others in mind.
"I have set up Michigan and UK right now," said Blackmon. "I will go to Indiana and I'm probably going to set up Kansas and I don't know the other yet. Kentucky will be October 18 and Michigan is September 28."
Blackmon said he discussed with Roy Williams about taking an official visit to UNC in October.
