Torin Francis approaches a decision

Torin Francis is back home, having concluded his week-long unofficial visit tour. Could the next words heard from the 6-10 Mass. post player be an announced commitment?

There have been speculative reports that Francis might not be ready to choose a school and could delay an announcement to bring coaches in for in-home visits.

Clint Jackson, Inside Carolina's Recruiting Analyst, spoke with Francis' high school coach David First this afternoon.

"There's really no time schedule for Torin's decision," said First, who accompanied Francis and his mother on the unofficial visits.

Could Torin be setting up some in-home visits?

"Well, he could," First said, but he seemed uncertain on whether the process would get that far.

And, when asked whether Francis could decide this week or next week, First said "he could."

"Torin's got some great oppurtunities with the schools he likes," he said. "But I think he's still got some questions about some of the schools that either he needs to answer himself or he needs to call them and have the questions answered."

First refused to comment on any particular visits.

In summary, Francis has not narrowed in on a school yet, but he likely will end the process within the next two weeks.

Jackson contributed his thoughts on the matter.

"I don't feel that at this time, Torin Francis is leaning towards North Carolina and I would be quite surprised if the Tar Heels were his college choice."

Virginia and Florida reportedly have made great strides to the top of Torin's list.
