UNC Holding Off New Suitors for Pass

ATLANTA --- Following his performance at Fedora's Freak Show last June, North Carolina extended Khane Pass his first scholarship offer.

Since then, Pass, a 6-foot, 195-pound safety from Columbus (Ga.) Carver, has added scholarship offers from Clemson, Mississippi State, NC State, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.

"North Carolina is still at the top, just because they were the first [to offer]," Pass said.

Pass said that he's also favoring Mississippi State and Texas A&M.

"I just like those programs and their style of play," Pass said.

Since UNC's inaugural Fedora's Freak Show a couple of summers back, a large contingent of Carver prospects have participated each year. The group typically arrives several hours before the camp begins to spend extra time with the Tar Heels' coaching staff and to receive an extended tour of Chapel Hill.

Pass says Carver will continue its tradition of attending Fedora's Freak Show this summer and he plans to be among the prospects once again. He also hopes to visit UNC in the spring – perhaps for a junior day.

"I just want to see some more of the campus and I guess meet some of the players that area already up there," Pass said.

Chris Kapilovic is recruiting Pass for UNC. Pass says that he regularly speaks with Kapilovic, as well as Larry Fedora.

"They just tell me that they love me and that they're looking forward to me coming up there," Pass said.

Besides UNC, Pass has made campus visits to Alabama, Clemson, and Mississippi State. He also attended one of Texas A&M's bowl game practices in Atlanta. He hopes to travel to College Station sometime in the coming months.

Pass started the Rising Seniors Bowl for the West on Tuesday at safety. He accumulated for a handful of tackles on both defense and special teams.
