Tucker Commits

Carl Tucker became the second UNC commitment of the day on Saturday, sources confirm. The Cornelius (N.C.) Hough tight end was in Chapel Hill for UNC's Spring Game.

A versatile 6-foot-2, 213-pound athlete, Tucker chose UNC over offers from Tennessee, Clemson and Penn State.

"Carl Tucker is one of the most gifted and athletic kids I've ever been around," Hough head coach Bobby Collins said. "He's a humble player. I don't think he really knows how good he can be – I see a lot of potential in him and it's fun for me to watch him play. I think the sky's the limit."

Tucker began his prep career at Concord (N.C.) Robinson where he started at wide receiver since his freshman season. He ended his sophomore campaign with 27 receptions for 647 yards and six touchdowns. He also played defensive back picking off six passes and making 49 tackles.

Last offseason, Tucker transferred to Hough since his mother is employed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools.

He is teammates at Hough HS with UNC cornerback commitment Corey Bell.
