Williams Decommits

Antonio Williams decommitted from North Carolina Saturday afternoon.

“I have officially decided I will decommit from the University of North Carolina,” Williams said in a statement.

Williams, a 5-foot-11, 208-pound running back from New London (N.C.) North Stanly, originally committed to North Carolina last September.

“First and foremost I would like to thank Coach Larry Fedora and his staff for giving me the chance to commit as early as I did. I would like to thank Tar Heel nation for the continuous support through everything, and everyone that supported my early decision. I have decided to do so only because of me. It has nothing to do with UNC investigations, coaching staff, or anything else. This is for me only.

“Big things are coming for the Tar Heels and Coach Fedora, and yes I do see that vision still of the promised success. The only true difference is I’m not part of it. I will always represent the state of NC no matter what. Again, thank you Tar Heels.”

Williams most recently visited UNC for Fedora's Freak Show last month.
