CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- North Carolina's final tuneup before the start of the regular season proved to be no contest Friday night, with a 112-34 rout of Belmont Abbey.
Justin Jackson led five double-digit scorers with 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks both had 14 points with only one missed shot attempt. J.P. Tokoto added 11 points and a game-high 6 assists.
A 19-0 UNC run opened up a 28-4 lead 9:47 into the game that would reach a 57-11 score at halftime.
The Tar Heels shot 67 percent from the floor, forced 32 turnovers and outscored the Division II Crusaders 80-10 in the paint.
UNC will host its season opener next Friday against N.C. Central.
