Early Enrollees Arrive

North Carolina’s 2015 recruiting class currently stands 17 members deep. On Sunday, an unprecedented number of them -- 10 -- began arriving on campus and enrolling in preparation for the spring semester.

For comparisons sake, UNC had 16 total midterm enrollees for the past four recruiting classes combined. In that span, the highest number of early enrollees for a single year was five.

Included in the talent infusion are four of UNC’s top five-ranked pledges – four-star prospects Jalen Dalton (Clemmons (N.C.) West Forsyth), William Sweet (Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast), Ty’Son Williams (Sumter (S.C.) Crestwood), and Anthony Ratliff-Williams (Matthews (N.C.) Butler). Of those four, three are members of the Scout 300.

UNC added its final midterm enrollee, Mike Hughes, just before Christmas when the New Bern (N.C.) athlete selected the Tar Heels over Florida and NC State.

Each midterm enrollee will be permitted to participate in Blue Dawn in February and spring practice in March. Thus, perhaps most important for the UNC coaching staff is every position group on offense and defense will receive an addition – quarterback (Ratliff-Williams), running back (Williams), wide receiver (Juval Mollette), tight end (Carl Tucker), offensive line (Sweet and Mason Veal), defensive line (Dalton), linebacker (Andre Smith), and defensive back (J.K. Britt and Hughes).
