"I am proud to say that I have committed to the University of North Carolina," Bargas announced on Monday evening.
Although his recruitment started trending this direction over the weekend – if not sooner – Bargas, 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end from Boca Raton (Fla.) St. Andrews, made the decision official during a Monday in-home visit with Larry Fedora and Seth Littrell.
Needing to replenish UNC’s tight end depth chart, Littrell spearheaded the Tar Heels’ pursuit of Bargas.
Bargas broke out during his junior season recording 58 receptions for 1,078 yards and 11 touchdowns. This past season, he caught 47 passes for 869 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed 42 times for 265 yards and three touchdowns.
Celebrating the commitment with his family, Bargas was not available for an interview on Monday.
