The LB’s and DB’s, again as units, practiced tackling a “ball carrier,” full contract tempo – as hard as they could hit, as hard as the ball carrier could run - mano a mano. Of course the opposing players were standing only three or so yards apart, if that, so neither player could get up a head of steam, so the players weren’t running at full speed, but the hitting was intense. ...
