DeLaurier Gets UNC Offer

North Carolina offered 2016 power forward Javin DeLaurier Sunday evening during a campus visit, according to Team Loaded coach Ty White.

Javin DeLaurier earned offers form Texas, Florida, Baylor, Notre Dame, Xavier, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and a host of others for his impressive play this spring. Now add UNC to that list.

According to White, North Carolina’s interest just picked up recently.

“They called a couple of times after the spring period.”

UNC invited DeLaurier on campus Sunday evening for a visit, during which the 6-9 standout from Charlottesville (Va.) St. Anne's-Belfield School met with Roy Williams and received the offer.

DeLaurier is coming off a strong spring, where he moved from No. 100 all the way up to No. 8 at the power forward position and No. 38 overall in the 2016 recruiting class.

Scout.com's Rob Harrington writes: "DeLaurier is a superlative run/jump athlete with straight-up leaping ability, excellent timing for blocked shots, above average post footwork and a workable facing jump shot."
