NBPA: Edrice Adebayo Spotlight
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Edrice Adebayo was back in the Smith Center on Sunday.
The 2016 big man made the two-plus hour drive to Chapel Hill to participate in a late-night pickup game session that included current Tar Heels, former Tar Heels and future Tar Heels.
“It was fun,” Adebayo said. “It was a lot of new people. I got to hang with the players.”
Adebayo said he was matched up with fellow offered 2016 post player Sacha Killeya-Jones.
The Tar Heel player he hung out with the most was Theo Pinson, as they know each other from past AAU circuits and area training sessions.
“When we were younger he used to play on my team and then my coach and his coach know each other and we do workouts together.”
Adebayo said he didn’t know who initiated his presence in Chapel Hill. Whether or not if it was by invitation of the UNC staff, Adebayo doesn’t concern himself much with college coach communications.
“I don’t know, I let my handler take care of that,” he said.
Don’t expect a college decision any time soon. Adebayo and his handler have made it clear they intend to go through the full process, likely until spring of 2016.
“I’m going to take visits and I just want to enjoy it,” he said.
