J.P. Tokoto and his family made the trip to New York City on Thursday to hear his name called and to walk on stage during the NBA Draft. That moment came in the final minutes of the draft when the Menomonee Falls, Wisc. native became the 108th Tar Heel selected in NBA Draft history.
Tokoto averaged 8.3 points and 5.6 rebounds this past season. He shot 42.8 percent from the field, including a 41.5 percent effort in ACC play (23.1 percent from 3). The 6-foot-6, 200-pound wing led or tied for the team lead in assists in 20 games in 2014-15.
The 6-foot-6 wing is the 19th Tar Heel selected in the draft to play for UNC head coach Roy Williams.
